The agreement aims to remove customs duties and quantitative restrictions on the land transit of goods, whilst maintaining the formalities and controls necessary to protect the single market. This is achieved through the creation of a customs union that includes Gibraltar and the EU territory.

CNMV Announcements

 

  • The CNMV (Spanish National Securities Market Commission) has authorised the deferral of the publication of trading volumes for Spanish sovereign debt in accordance with Article 11(3) of MiFIR (European Regulation on Markets in Financial Instruments). [+Info]

The CNMV has agreed to allow the omission of end-of-day trading volume in the publication of trades in Spanish sovereign debt bonds classified in category 1 (medium-sized trades in liquid bonds).

 

Query of interest from the Tax Agency

 

  • Sub-Directorate General for Consumption Taxes

The enquirer is a company that owns a hotel establishment currently under construction and has entered into a purchase option agreement with a housing cooperative, whereby the latter may acquire the property without the transfer of licences, permits or other tangible or intangible assets. The property is encumbered by several mortgages and, should the option be exercised, part of the price will be used to settle those mortgages. In this context, the entity asks whether the reverse charge mechanism for VAT, as provided for in Article 84.1.2.e), third indent, of the law, would apply to this transfer.
